Art Nouveau Horse Head Cuff
The horse is a universal symbol of freedom without restraint, because riding a horse makes us feel we can free ourvselves from our own bindings. They are symbols of travel, movement, and desire.
Art Nouveau has always been a favorite of mine. Taking inspiration from the unruly aspects of the natural world, these sinuous lines and curves were hand shaped and sculpted in silver wire using nature as my primary source of inspiration. The unfolding of Art Nouveau’s flowing line emphasized a return to hand-craftsmanship and traditional techniques and I have tried to capture that spirit here in this gorgeous cuff
Lore of the Inuit peoples claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in pearly hues of blue and green. A Stone of Magic for shamans, diviners, healers, and all who travel and embrace the universe seeking knowledge and guidance.
This beautiful 50ct labradorite cabochon as the centerpiece is accented by coiled and twisted silver wire. The woven setting is sterling silver, adorned with spirals, swirls and delicate twin horse heads.
